PTA and Honor Roll Introduced into the School

1016

In 1930, the St. Anthony Parent-Teachers-Association was organized under the direction of Mrs. Chisholm.

The Honor Roll was also introduced into the school. A student who merited a mark of “good” for both “self-control” and “application” during a six week period was placed on the honor roll, while those who merited a mark of “very good” received high honors. Self-control was interpreted as doing the right thing at the right time. Application was doing the work assigned to the best of one’s ability. This plan aimed at “developing character as well as acquiring knowledge necessary and useful for life.”
