Veteran’s Day Ecumenical Service



Ecumenical memorial services to honor the men and women who have died in the military service of their country was held in 1970. Rabbi Mayer Relles, Rev. Duane Aslyn, and Fr. William Speerstra led the reading of the scriptures and gave homilies. The event was sponsored by the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Non-Catholics Permitted to Receive Eucharist Under Specific Conditions

In 1973, Bishop Hammes promulgated a decree whereby non-Catholic Christians were permitted to receive the Eucharist under specific conditions.
