Formation of the SAS-SALN-SW Tri-Cluster

On August 3, 2008, St. Anthony Parish in Superior (SAS) was clustered with St. Anthony Parish in Lake Nebagamon (SALN) and St. William Parish in Patterson Park (SW).

Bishop Peter Christensen appointed newly ordained Deacon Phil Runser as Parish Life Coordinator of the tri-cluster with newly ordained Father Edwin Anderson as parochial vicar.

Although both of these clergy had their ardent supporters, many parishioners of the three parishes struggled in adapting to the new model. Some were embittered by the process by which the three churches were clustered and so became members of St. Francis of Xavier or the Cathedral of Christ the King. Some stopped going to church altogether.
