Parish as Training Ground for New Priests

Although some parishioners believed that the parish was a training ground for new priests, it is unclear whether or not this was the intention of the diocese. Nonetheless, after completing his first year as a priest, on July 1, 2009, Bishop Peter Christensen appointed Father Anderson as Parochial Administrator of St. Francis de Sales parish in Spooner, and newly ordained Father Don Kania became parochial vicar of the three parishes in the tri-cluster. Deacon Runser remained in the challenging role as the pastoral leader of the parish and the one responsible for its administration.
